The Bass Coalition’s mission is to foster bass education and “bass up front” performances and inspire bassists of all ages.
For over a decade, the Bass Coalition Summer Workshop has brought bassists of all ages and backgrounds together to learn, share, and hone their craft. From classical to jazz and avant-garde to alternative, we grow together to help you make better music.

The Stokes Intensive
The Stokes Intensive session (Limit 5 participants) Will be held June 15-20 on the campus of Shenandoah University-Conservatory. Tuition is $700
The Stokes Intensive session runs from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm June 15-20. The Hallmarks of this session are highly individualized attention, private instruction, coaching for practice efficiency, solo and chamber coachings, and daily masterclasses. The Intensive Session is open to both Classical and Jazz performers, but is limited to 5 participants.
Solo presentations for the Intensive participants occur on June 20 and will involve a previously unstudied work. Intensive participants will also be active during the BC Summer Workshop June 19-20.
