The 2-day workshop is open to bassists of all levels and ages and will be held at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 26 West Boscawen Street, Winchester, VA 22601

The 2017 schedule will be finalized in May, but will include courses on New Music, Jazz, Classical, Orchestral Repertory, technique, solo playing and more.  To get an general idea of the festivities, check out the  2017 Bass Coalition Workshop General Schedule:

The 2017 Stokes Intensive Session at Shenandoah Conservatory will be June 12-17, 2017  *The Intensive session is limited to 4 participants (classical or jazz). Check out the details here.:Intensive Session Application

Tuition for the Bass Coalition 2017 Summer Workshop is $240. The 6-day Intensive Session with Dr. Stokes is $500 and includes participation in the Summer Workshop. Private lessons will be available with faculty members for $60 (please inquire ahead of time for scheduling). Bass Coalition T-Shirts are on sale for $20.

There are a small number of scholarships for our 2017 Summer Workshop.  If you wish to apply, please fill out an application form and then email us with a short statement on how a scholarship would benefit you and how the bass fits into your life.

Students of all ages and advancement levels are welcome at our Summer Workshop! Our youngest student thus far has been 8 years of age, and our oldest was 81! (**minors must be checked in by a parent or guardian, and under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times) 

Special Housing Rates

Each year we negotiate with a local hotel to provide a great deal on housing for our participants. Info on Special Housing Rates will be on the website in the coming few weeks.
